TransJakarta in city hands

Transjakarta has officially been transformed into a city-owned company with a new board of directors and goals of improving service and reducing subsidies.
The city bus service was previously run by the Jakarta Transportation Agency.
Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and city-owned property developer PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) signed the new company’s premises at City Hall into existence on Thursday. The governor also swore in the five members of its new board of directors.
