Under global economy uncertainty, Owens-Illinois continues expanding its business. The Ohio-based glass container company that has been operating in Indonesia since 1973, under the name of Kangar Consolidated Industries, is optimistic about its business growth. Owens-Illinois Jakarta managing director Joseph Haddad is even taking its investment to the next level by constructing manufacturing facilities to boost production.

The company that produces about 2.3 million of glass bottles a day for a number of major brands of food, beverages, and pharmacies is in the process of expanding its partnerships with other companies. Its products are known through a number of consumer products like Kratingdaeng, sambal Indofood (Indofood chili sauce), Hemaviton, and Marjan syrup, as well as Coca Cola, Heineken, Heinz, Danone, Nestle, and Unilever.

Joseph Haddad, born in 1961, believes that Owens can survive among its competitors. "We are the only company that focuses on glass containers and bottles," Haddad told AnandaPutri from Tempo. The summary of interview with Joseph Haddad is as follows.
