Inevitable for car producers to invest in Indonesia

We do indeed need to address issues surrounding our products. Our industrial structures also still have gaps. But at the same time, why don’t we optimize our prospects as new a home to foreign investment? Since 2010, the trend has been that the aging populations, including China, have to invest in nations that are close to their market. In the case of Indonesia, we are more than just a market. Indonesia is also home to the basic commodities their industries need for their production. This will soon make Indonesia a giant production center. The best example of this is the automotive industry.

It will be inevitable for car producers to invest and establish their factories in Indonesia. The big factor is transportation costs. In the past, this could be coped with because the price of fuel was still low. But now, given today’s high fuel prices, it is very ineffective to ship raw bauxite from Riau to Australia for processing, and ship it back again to Indonesia to be processed as alumina in Asahan, then bring it to Japan for engine-block manufacturing, and after they are assembled into cars shipping them again to be sold in Indonesia. That does not make any sense.

They are going to come to Indonesia. But this does not mean that we can be complacent.

the big factor is NOT transportation cost Er wordt niet dicht bij de markt geproduceerd. Bijvoorbeeld. Iphone, veel van de onderdelen worden in de VS geproduceerd en die gaan naar Chine waar ze worden geassembleerd en daarna verkocht in Europa. het probleem is de organisatie van de supply chain world-wide. Bijvoorbeeld een auto bestaat uit 30.000 hoogwaardige onderdelen en die worden daar geproduceerd waar het de fabriek goed uitkomt, het is niet alleen een kostenvoordeel anders werden ze wel in Noord-Korea gebouwd

Waarom is tot nu toe geen auto geproduceerd in Indonesie en wel in Argentinie, Brazilie, Mexico, Polen, Serbie en natuurlijk India en China???.... Het gaat om comperatieve en kostenvoordelen!!!! En vergeet niet de automative Industrie zit met een gigantische overcapaciteit, In Italie zijn 6 fabrieken die 600.000 auto's maken , terwijl in Polen 1 fabriek 600.000 autos maakt.

En wat is het verschil tussen 1 Kg BMW en 1 Kg Peugot

Volgens mij worden wel auto's in Indonesia geassembleerd.

Zo zal Mercedes Benz hier ook een assemblage lijn opzetten

Ik keek naar een link en wat las ik

Last summer (locally known as the dry season), I began looking at a new car that was being sold in Indonesia. Up until then, all cars sold in Indonesia had to be assembled in Indonesia. That was former President Soeharto's way of helping out two of his kids that were in the local auto industry.

After Soeharto's fall, the laws began to change. Cars can now be brought into the country fully assembled. There is an additional import tax to be paid, but it isn't too stiff. The quality of Indonesian “assembled” cars is not very good. For instance, of the four Indonesian assembled cars that I have owned, all four had problems with the electric windows and the seat belts. Anyway, I began looking at the KIA Carnival. They are made in Korea and are something like a Chrysler mini-van. But, they arrived at the design completely independent of Chrysler.

Even serieus. hoeveel SUVs zullen er in Indonesie verkocht worden
In Indonesie 77 op de 1.000 inwoners hebben een auto (in Maleisie het dubbele), hoeveel kunnen daarvan een Mercedes-Benz en dan ook een SUV kopen want daar gaat het artikel over dhr Beras, ikzelf zou nog geeneens een Mercedes SUV kunnen kopen.

U heeft gelijk dhr Beras in Indonesie worden auto's geassembleerd maar wel met kwaliteitsproblemen zoals U lezen kan.

Het is inderdaad , ik durf wel te zeggen , IEDER auto afkomstig uit een assemblage lijn in Indonesie van minder kwaliteit is, helaas!

Dus is het in dit geval is "berengsek Industrie" en niet hidup IND. We hadden het al over gehad ergens anders. Opleiding is over het algemeen beroerd hier. Wat u, dacht ik, elders opmerkte moeten er goede (vak)scholen komen. Ik denk ook dat dan de leraren/instructeurs getraind moeten worden door buitenlanders en/of in het buitenland stage moeten lopen.

Toyota Indonesia to export Vios to ASEAN, Middle East markets

PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) is set to export one of its products, the Toyota Vios, to Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern countries in the near future.

The Vios will be the first sedan model that Toyota has exported abroad since beginning operations in Indonesia in 1971.

"With our more than 40-year journey in Indonesia, Toyota's export expansion is the product of the hard work and passion of our 7,600 employees. We are very proud of this achievement," TMMIN president director Masahiro Nanomi said in Karawang, West Java, on Wednesday as quoted by Kompas.com.

The firm will export the Vios to Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen. 


Initially, the company will export around 1,000 units monthly, with the figure set to gradually increase to 3,000 cars a month.

Nanomi said the exports would contribute to Toyota Indonesia's balance sheet and showed the Japanese carmaker's commitment to increasing export activities from Indonesia.
