Lion’s Batik Air to fly to Singapore this year

Bericht door manis » za mar 01, 2014 9:30 am

In response to rising demand for full-service flights, Batik Air will add domestic and international destinations, including Singapore, at the end of this year. It will fly to the city-state three times daily from Jakarta.

Batik, the full-service unit of the low-cost carrier Lion Air, began operating in May last year. It competes with Indonesia’s flag carrier Garuda to attract wealthier passengers. It currently flies to 10 destinations, including Manado, Pekanbaru, Ambon and Balikpapan. It has transported 1 million passengers so far.

The airline would also fly to Banjarmasin, Batam, Gorontalo, Kendari, Medan, Padang, Palembang, Palu, Timika, Tarakan and Solo. With the additional routes the number of daily flights would increase from 36 to 100.
